Richard Morris - Chief Executive Officer
Richard is the founder of Heropreneurs. As a journalist, he has written for numerous national and international newspapers including the Sunday Times, Wall Street Journal and the FT and has set up and exited a number of successful public relations firms.He began working in PR as a consultant to Yell.com and BT and while working for Miller Shandwick advised many digital and technology companies including Microsoft and Digital Island, the first global private network.
His public relations experience has been around offering a premium public affairs brief which included rigorous strategic thought, effective implementation and a commitment to helping clients achieve their objectives and in this advised many high net worth individuals and corporate clients including the Welsh Office, Hermes, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Close Brothers, asset management companies and the Business and Investment Board of Mauritius.He co-founded the multi award-winning Bright Ideas Trust with Apprentice winner Tim Campbell. A published author, he still writes for national and international news media..
Nick Cowan - Business Development Manager
Former Colour Sergeant Nick Cowan, joined the Light Division at Peninsula Barracks Winchester in 1984, and served with the 2nd Battalion the Royal Green Jackets until options for change renamed the Battalion 1 RGJ. He served on various operational tours including Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Canada, Jordan, Ukraine, Germany, Cyprus and the UK.
In 2007 he was medically discharged due to a spinal injury and since has campaigned for better conditions for our armed forces. His first campaign was to get the Local Connection rule in the Housing Act 1996 amended so service personnel are now given equal priority as others on social housing lists.
Christine Spooner - Director of Fundraising and Events
Before joining Heropreneurs, Christine served as the Executive Director of TIE UK, a global non-profit supporting entrepreneurs, from 2008 through early 2012. In that position she oversaw all aspects of the organisation including sponsorship, high net worth membership, partnerships, mentoring, general member programmes and events.
Prior that role, Christine worked in events and fundraising, managing the outreach and coordination of such events as Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday Fundraiser in Hyde Park (2008) and TIME Magazine’s “Heroes” Awards Event at the Royal Courts of Justice (2007). Christine also spent over ten years working on projects for Sony Pictures Entertainment in Los Angeles before moving to the UK in 2007
