Below are just a few of the mentors we work with. All of the mentors on the mentoring programme give their time, energy and expereince freely. We are very privileged that there is such a high calibre of talent on our mentoring team with a combined expereince that covers every industry at every level. Those entrepreneurs joining the mentoring programme will be matched with someone who suits their specific requirements and many long standing partnerships and friendships have been borne from this programme.

PETER MOUNTFORD
Chairman
Peter has decades of experience behind him in investing and financing. He has provided strategic advice as chairman and board member of a number of successful companies. He is one of the UK's leading experts in investments and has floated three of the most successful companies ever floated on AIM.
​
His involvement in the veteran community stems from a personal interest in ensuring that opportunities and support for those from a military background are readily and, more importantly, freely available.
​
He is also chairman for The Veterans' Foundation, a charity which provides a nationwide source of funding for military charities that may otherwise struggle to raise funding.

TOM
COPINGER-SYMES
Serving and Trustee
Major General Tom Copinger-Symes was commissioned into the Royal Green Jackets in 1992. He served as commanding officer of the 5thBattalion, The Rifles, in Afghanistan between November 2011 and April 2012.
He became commander of 1stIntelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Brigade in April 2014, Assistant Chief of Staff (Operations) at Army Headquarters in June 2016, and General Officer Commanding Force Troops Command in December 2017.

Tom was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 2017 Birthday Honours.
After a number of interactions with the charity, realising the need for the supportin the veteran community he joined Heropreneurs as a Trustee in 2019.

STUART
NICHOL
Veteran and Trustee
Following a six year career in the military and a further four years in the reserves, Stuart gained over 20 years experience in investing in over 50 high growth UK firms.
​
His passion is in investing in small companies and helping them grow and develop. He gets a kick from working with entrepreneurs, especially those with a purpose and has mentored a number of veterans on the Heropreneurs Mentoring Programme.
He currently runs the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Investment Fund and runs his own business coaching high growth firms.

Stuart joined Heropreneurs in 2011 and has personally mentored over 20 entrepreneurs himself as well as providing invaluable support in publicising the service across his networks.

SIMON
BANKS-COOPER
Veteran and Trustee
Simon Banks-Cooper joined Heropreneurs as a Trustee in Autumn 2019.
​
Simon brings first hand experience of transition from a military career to successful entrepreneur. He was formerly an Infantry Officer, before leaving regular service in 2000, and is currently the Honorary Colonel of the Humberside and South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force.
He has overseen the growth of his accounting and corporate finance practice which he started in Hull but now also with offices in both Leeds and London. As well as founding his own company, he has also held appointments as CEO, investment director, board member and Chairman in a number of public and private companies and currently has a number of active investments across a variety of business sectors.
