The Board of Heropreneurs is delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Banks-Cooper as a Trustee.
Peter Mountford, the Chairman of Heropreneurs, said: "When Simon left the Armed Forces he qualified as an accountant and founded his own highly successful business. As a military veteran and entrepreneur he has been a valued Business Mentor for members of Heropreneurs, and I am very pleased that he has kindly agreed to join our Board. His advice and support will be very useful as Heropreneurs continues to grow".
As a mentor to a number of business start-ups on the Heropreneurs Mentoring Programme and his company BCA, are sponsors of the 2019 Heropreneurs Awards, he will be a familiar face to many of those within the network.
Simon brings first hand experience of transition from a military career to successful entrepreneur. He was formerly an Infantry Officer, before leaving the Army in 2000, and is currently the Honorary Colonel of the Humberside and South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force.
He has overseen the growth of his accounting and corporate finance practice which he started in Hull but now also with offices in both Leeds and London. As well as founding his own company, he has also held appointments as CEO, investment director, board member and Chairman in a number of public and private companies and currently has a number of active investments across a variety of business sectors.
Simon said: “I am both delighted and humbled to join the Board of Heropreneurs, a charity that unites two of my core passions namely, developing businesses and supporting the wider Defence family. I know I am going to enjoy this opportunity, it is not just the validity of the cause, but the opportunity to help a team of like-minded professionals, working selflessly for a common purpose.”
