We kick off our Heropreneurs Awards 2021 with the winner of ‘Start-Up of the Year’.
Sponsored by BCA, this award recognises an early-stage company that has successfully transitioned from an idea to an operational business.
This winner had a commercial idea, a strong and sustainable business plan, and a dedicated, enthusiastic management team. We are thrilled to announce that this year’s winner is SCR Logistics, founded by Karl Little.
Having recently joined Amazon as an official delivery service partner, SCR Logistics is a new company in the Southwest of England that specialises in multi-drop deliveries. ‘Keen to support the people who deserve it most’, the driving team compromises of 60% veterans, and it continues to provide emotional support and guidance moving forward.
Serving in the Royal Marines, from 2007 – 2015, Karl tells us how his military background has contributed to the ethos of how he runs his business.
‘During my time in the corps, it gave me that grit and determination to always want to achieve more. It gave me discipline and made me resilient, which is needed in the ever-changing dynamics of the logistics world. To win this award and get the recognition, it is incredible. I’m grateful for the people who have supported me and our team at SCR Logistics.
