Heropreneurs are extremely grateful to have received funding from the Veterans' Foundation once more, allowing us to continue to support those in the UK military community interested in pursuing entrepreneurial careers.
Our charity is heavily reliant on the generosity of funding organisations, charitable trusts, and private donors who share a passion for encouraging entrepreneurship, celebrating success, and providing long-term business growth across the UK. This grant will be used to cover the costs of expanding and promoting the core mentoring programme into 2023.
The Heropreneurs team is grateful to the Veterans’ Foundation for allowing us to continue providing much-needed support to our community.
Matt Feeley, Head of Development at Heropreneurs, commented "I am so delighted by the level of support provided by The Veterans’ Foundation. It is critical that Heropreneurs can draw on this assistance to engage, inform and inspire our beneficiaries through a first-class mentoring programme. This generous award will help to see a new wave of entrepreneurs benefit and bring us a step closer to financial sustainability. Thank you!"
Major General David Shaw, CEO of the Veterans' Foundation, tells us more about how they help the wider military community. “The Veterans’ Foundation has been set up to help fund charities and other charitable organisations that are helping serving and former members of the Armed Forces, and their dependants, who are in need.”
He adds, “The Veterans’ Foundation raises its money through the Veterans’ Lottery and
donations. Since its inception in July 2016, it has given over £11 million through over 600
grants to over 300 unique organisations, many of them small to medium-sized and very
worthwhile charities, which are helping members of the Armed Forces community who are in
need. Forecasts indicate the Veterans’ Foundation will make grants totalling £4.4 million this
financial year. The charities and other organisations we have helped include those tackling
the challenges of mental and physical injuries, homelessness, unemployment, and children’s loss
of parents while serving and remembrance. We encourage you to spread the word.”
