Rob Edwards, our new Marketing and Events Manager, joins Heropreneurs having been a board trustee at ISBE, the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and subsequently, their Head of Business Development and Marketing since 2014.
With a background in academic publishing, Rob has run his own business for seven years, and is excited about joining the team to share the stories of all the amazing people in the Heropreneurs community.
Speaking about his appointment, Rob said:
‘I am really looking forward to working with the Heropreneurs team and delighted to bring my experience in Marketing, Event Management and Entrepreneurship to help such a worthwhile charity and its membership thrive.’
Rob is originally from Mid Wales, now living in Yorkshire with his wife, three children and their over-excited cockapoo, Oscar.
In his spare time, he is a keen actor and musical theatre performer and is frequently seen treading the boards of the theatres of West Yorkshire.
We are also thrilled to announce that Jenny Monaghan will be joining Heropreurs as Marketing and Events Coordinator.
Jenny joins us following three years running her own business where she gained in depth knowledge of social media and strategies to leverage reach and growth. She has previously worked with small businesses, brands, and companies to increase their online presence. It is from this that her passion for creating innovative, visual, and written content grew.
On joining the team, Jenny tells us:
‘I am absolutely delighted and honoured to be joining the Heropreneurs team. As a spouse of a currently serving member of the armed forces, I am committed to building communities on our social platforms and creating relationships. I’m excited to see what the rest of this year has in store for our mentees and can’t wait to showcase their achievements.’
Jenny currently lives in Somerset, with her husband who is serving in the Royal Marines, her young son and two dogs. In her spare time, she creates imagery and content for brands, designs macramé pieces and enjoys gardening.
Speaking on their appointments, CEO Becci Parriss tells us:
‘The expansion of our Marketing and Events team comes at such a great time for our charity as we continue to grow our network and deliver an increasing calendar of SME-led events and opportunities to our mentees. With Rob and Jenny’s backgrounds, I’ve no doubt that they will quickly be making a significant impact on our ability to support the UK Armed Forces community.’
